An Sanctoir - West Cork's Holistic Center

Terms and Conditions for use of An Sanctoir facilities

Conditions for Workshops, Courses, Performances and Camps 2009

An Sanctóir is a unique venue: an holistic centre in the heart of a beautiful sanctuary, which is open to all. Owned by a trust and operated as a registered charity CHY13347, all our income goes into running the centre and maintaining the sanctuary. As a charity we wish to support community events, fundraisers and individuals who wish to take risks and explore their creativity, and will, where possible offer concessions to such individuals or groups.

Rental fees:
• Basic rental: €125 per day, plus an additional €2.50 per participant after 15th person per day for profit making events (Counted from the 16th participant e.g. : the extra charge for 20 participants is €2.50 x 5 = €10).
• Rental for an evening event: €50 or a third of the earnings if you are charging admission.
• Heating is inclusive.
• Groups without a facilitator: €13 per person per day (or a minimum fee of €75 whichever is greater)
• Rehearsal: €13 per hour ( rehearsal time is free where it results in a fundraiser for the centre).
• Camping on the land or sleeping in the centre is €7.00 per person per day, including use of showers and toilets.

Deposits:
• All bookings must be confirmed with a deposit within two weeks of our agreeing to hold the dates. Absence of a deposit will result in the booking being cancelled and the dates being made available for others to book. Responsibility lies with the facilitator/promoter to ensure the deposit is received on time.
• The deposit required is €50 per day. A cancellation fee of 25% of the rental fee will be charged for cancellations made 8 weeks or more before the scheduled dates,  50% of the rental fee will be charged for cancellations made 4 weeks or more before the scheduled dates, no refund shall be made for cancellations made with less than 4 weeks notice.

General information:
• We will include all public events and workshops in our programme mailed/emailed twice a year, if booking is confirmed and information available in time for the relevant mailing. Where possible, if required, all public events and workshops will appear on our website.
• In our experience workshops that are sponsored (by a person who wishes the workshop to happen) are more likely to be successful. We encourage all facilitators to find such a person(s) who would promote the event, do administration, the poster and the cleaning in exchange for the workshop.
• When a booking is confirmed, please let us know about your requirements for the space: chairs, sound system, catering or anything else you may require.
• Teachers and facilitators are responsible for what happens in their classes and are advised to have their own insurance. An Sanctoir has liability insurance but this does not cover the instructor or the participants.
• We would be grateful if you are able to be generous and have a space in your workshop to allow one of our (volunteer) trustees to do your workshop free of charge, let us know.
• To encourage use of the centre we remain flexible and open to discussion about the above. We are also open to work in exchange for rent.
