Description:
Sound Body Wisdom draws on the dynamics of the body and voice in motion, awareness practice, and somatic-based therapies. Participants will be led with group, partnered and individual exercises in movement, breath, voice and pulse to discover creative exchange, expression and gentle learning. Structured and organic exercises will offer tools in connecting with ourselves, others and the ground through weight exchange, contact improvisation, non-verbal communication and physical expression. There will also be intentional hands on contact and movement exercises connected to witnessing and improvisation. We will find awareness with our breath and bring breath into sound through toning exercises and vocal expression that explore the power and effects of sound and vibration.
Sound Body Wisdom creates a safe environment that supports us moving beyond conditioned patterns and into listening to our own wisdom, connected to others and the world. Each of us brings our own unique experiences and knowledge to this work. Truly listening to our personal wisdom and meeting it with curiosity can help facilitate deeper learning into one’s own experience of body, mind and spirit. The workshop will be immediately followed by an impromptu trance dance led by Jacqueline and featuring International DJ Bliss (aka Kenny Dread)
