The 2nd of this summers Barefoot Boudoir invites you to kick off your shoes relax and unravel in our sumptuous setting for an intimate evening of music and magic.
This time it is our great pleasure to be the hosts to The Bahh Band from Galway.
The Bahh Band mix Indian classical forms with an array of world folk traditions and stir it all up with a healthy dose of improvisation and groove with the core of the group revolving around the sarode (an Indian lute), double bass, slide guitar with rhythmic drive from both Indian and Irish percussion and collaborations with several vocalists, drawing on the otherworldly improvisations of Polish born Goishka and Irish sean-nos singer Ceara Conway. Fresh from gigs at the Body & Soul Festival, the group are touring the West Coast of Ireland as part of their “Indian summer surfari tour”.
Barefoot Boudoir is also excited to have the wonderful Francesca Baines perform on this evening.
Francesca shares her imaginative outlook on life with a soulful and playfully diverse singing voice and guitar, banjo and dulcimer. Inventively resourcing all genres to melodically and rhythmically support lyrical concepts, she offers tales of wit and sensitive expression to audience and listener. For many months she has been locked away recording her debut album in a studio in the depths of West Cork, so this is a real treat to hear her perform live!
Come and relax to the wonderful sounds of the performing musicians in the Boudoir, especially decorated in an Indian style.
