Body Stories
Amerta Movement and Embodied Awareness

A compassionate and revealing free movement practice for support in everyday life.
There are no steps to learn. It is simple, playful and profound work.

During this course we will work with Amerta movement and Experiential Anatomy

to deepen our connection with the unique creation that is our body.

You will be guided to listen to and follow the impulses of the body.

You will be given techniques to develop your movement and expression.

You will gain understanding into what, and how, you communicate through your body.

You will access its wisdom and learn to receive its history with kindness.

“Thank you again for a most interesting and revealing day of movement. It is unusually challenging, engaging and gets all my body and mind cells pinging like mad!!”                                                                                                                                             Sharon, Yoga teacher

“I had no idea how valuable I would find the experience…it has been a wonderful guided journey...and has brought me a deep feeling of calm and stillness.

Claire's fascination with the wisdom of the moving body began when she studied art in the early nineties. She deepened this journey by training in therapeutic massage. and studying many different forms of movement and bodywork. Since 2001 she has taught Movement and Hatha Yoga. Claire met her primary teacher, Indonesian Movement Master Suprapto Surydarmo, in 1997 and has been teaching this work  now for over 7 years. She is the only recognised teacher of Amerta Movement resident in Ireland. In 2007 she completed the ‘Body and Earth’ training in experiential anatomy and developmental movement with Andrea Olsen and Caryn McHose from USA, and trained to teach yoga for pregancy and birth. She also assists communities in Cork city and county to set up Community Gardens.

“My experience of Claire’s work is that she holds her groups with kindness, knowledge and skill. She is a pioneer in movement work. coming as she does from a background in Art, Movement and Yoga.”             Charlie Stevens,  Psychotherapist, and Co-founder of Contemporary Yoga.
