Wild and free forever Gypsy Duende with Monica Roncon

Surrender to the contagious rhythms of Rom music from Russia, Hungary, and Romania, to the passionate melodies of fiddles and the magic of it's voices. Joining technique and creativity, we will learn to speak through our hands and feet, to open our chests to joy or melancholy, to ride the wind  with our shawls and skirts.  With spontaneity and simplicity we will dance our heart away, airing our body and soul as if welcoming a fresh morning.

Born in Lisbon from a Portuguese father and a Spanish mother, Mónica joins temperament and sweetness with an indefatigable curiosity for remote horizons.  A four-language translator and interpreter, she started her dancing career as a flamenco and Spanish classic ballet dancer and laterundertook a one-way path into the unique and limitless world of Rom dances from Central and Eastern Europe.  She started this journey with the Hungarian-Belgian choreographer and dancer Myriam Szabo and later with Ukrainian dancer, singer and actor Petia Iourtchenko, among other renowned artists.

Her creativity unfolds in a fusion of different Rom dances of the world within the context of several dance companies and world music bands such as Zambra, Dazkarieh, Les Aminches or Salamantras, with whom she performs in several European scenes and world music festivals. She has collaborated and trained in Danza Duende with Myriam Szabo since the project began.

To Mónica dance is a dialogue above all, a communion between peoples.

A  dance workshop for women and men  Cost: €210 non-refundable deposit required
There is a special price for those attending all four Duende dance workshops)

Call to Power (Shamanism) with Sarah Cunningham

Shamanism is a body of techniques which has been used by humans since before the beginning of recorded history, and which survives in remarkably similar form in every corner of the globe. Shamanic practices are at the root of all religions and spiritual practices. Shamans work with nature, with sound, with dance, among other methods, to enter an altered state of consciousness, to travel to other realms of being, to bring back increased energy, knowledge, and healing.

This intensive weekend introduces some of these ways of working and requires no previous experience.

Beyond Yoga with Ken Ryan

Ken

Nurture and discover your inner spirit, exploring the subtle arts of yoga, thai chi, deep relaxation and meditation with the Yoga ‘Mister’ Ken Ryan.

Ken Ryan is from the wild west of Ireland. He has spent much time in India with extended periods of study and practice at remedial, spiritual and scientific schools of Yoga. His style has been described as strong, energetic, deeply grounding and non-conventional.

Ken’s major disciplines are in traditional and western yoga practise, thai chi, meditation, lymphatic breathing and many other spiritual art forms that he has mastered out in India.

Beyond Yoga -  Practice Philosophy

Given Ken’s frequent training trips to India and further East, the style of Yoga he teaches has evolved in its expression since his first qualifying as a Sivananda Yoga teacher. However energetic, deep or strong one practices a posture, a sense of ease is emphasised.

“Find the Crucial point of each Stretch”, Ken readily suggests to his students; this being that point of greatest Openness where the body has not yet reached any severe sense of pain or strain.

“Sure”, he says “isn’t there enough struggle in life, without afflicting ourselves with it in our personal Space and Time. Taken a step deeper: Realize that what you create on your Yoga mat can and will be amplified in your life Beyond the mat. Your Yoga personal practice then becomes means of Self Discovery and Creation.”

The Ultimate goal is to simply and effortlessly discover your natural state of Being.

Within this there is perfect Ease.
